SAADA NESS BOOK

About ten years ago - while I was a film student - I lived in Marrakech, in Saada, a rapidly built neighborhood on the outskirts meant for modest populations, far from the bustling tourist activity of the city center. The rents there are among the cheapest in the city. I occupied a spartan apartment on the fifth floor.

From my window, the view was bizarre: on one side, a row of identical buildings, and on the other, a rocky, desert expanse stretching as far as the eye could see. I took photos exclusively from the apartment windows. The solitary figures passing below reminded me of Giacometti's walkers. These anonymous passersby had a kind of overwhelming presence, as if an invisible burden weighed on their shoulders.

Years later, I reorganized these photos to create a publication in collaboration with the graphic designers of Studio Alliage in Brussels. Although this project never led to a public release, here is the unique copy that resulted from this graphic experimentation.
